How Much Torque Can a Heavy-Duty Robotic Joint Really Handle?

Let’s simulate a real application with the HONPINE HAG40 harmonic joint actuator.

Before shipment, this HAG40 full closed-loop joint module is undergoing a real-world load test at the HONPINE factory, simulating the working conditions of a leg-wheel folding-arm robot.

Test conditions:

Payload: 80 kg

Arm length: 1,200 mm

Peak torque: 800 N·m

Rated torque: 557 N·m

Hollow bore: 28 mm

The video demonstrates the HAG harmonic joint actuator’s large hollow, integrated design, which helps simplify cable and utility routing within the robot.

The actuator can also be equipped with an integrated torque sensor, brake, and STO (Safe Torque Off) function, providing additional options for demanding robotic applications.
